First Day of School

Trying to get a studious picture before school...not happening.
I told Noah to smile.
I anticipated Aiden being super excited about school this morning, Noah being upset and crying, and Wyatt being upset and screaming. LOL. For the most part, I was wrong! Noah whimpered a little bit when I left for the final time (I took Aiden to his classroom and came back to Noah). Aiden hugged me several times, not wanting to let go...and Wyatt just sat down at his table in his classroom and waited for them to serve breakfast...no crying, nothing... I thought it went well.
At 3:08, I pull into the parking lot and ended up in a line of cars to pick up kids. This was my first experience with the "pick up line". .... and it wasn't a good one. I could see my boys waiting for me and couldn't get to them! People were getting out of their cars to put kids in cars and that left the rest of us stuck... I will park tomorrow and walk up to get them.
Aiden got into the car and immediately started sobbing. I guess he got in trouble at the end of the day for not raising his hand and trying to talk to the teacher..had to stand in the hallway facing the wall.....Definitely something Aiden would do, he loves to talk. He was also thirsty and his head hurt when he got in. I pull up to get Noah and he jumps in with a grin on his face. I thought he would have had a bad day, but he didn't! He told me all about it and was so excited. He said he got to eat two lunches (breakfast and lunch actually) and sang his ABC's. He also walked on the sidewalk outside in a train. I asked him if he met any new friends and he said yes, but only the listening ones...LOLOL.....He said one boy didn't listen and he is not my friend...poor guy....We drove back into Blanchard to pick up Wyatt. Noah went in with me while Aiden stayed in the car crying and watching a movie. Wyatt ran to us and was so happy. They said that it was karaoke day and that he loved it! Sno Cones and home for a few hours before gymnastics. After some snacks and TV time and a lot of talking with mommy, Aiden was doing much better. He also talked to granny and mama on the phone which helped too.
Last year they went to school 30 minutes from home and did gymnastics and soccer there too. We never had time to drive home and back for those extra things so we stayed in Norman. I would have to pack the whole house it seemed in the mornings because wouldn't be home until 6:30 or 7:00. It wore us all out. Now school is close to home and gymnastics is too. It is so nice and the boys seem much happier.
(Sigh~) They are growing up so fast.
