Vacation Week
I can't believe I have procrastinated a whole week! Well, Tim was on leave this whole week so I can blame it on him. hahaha...We stayed very busy and very worn out. After Kim and Lisa left on Monday we laid around the house all day trying to recover from such a wonderful but busy 4 days. Tuesday I had a day to get some shopping and errands done while daddy stayed home with the boys. Daddy did a lot of cleaning while the boys played. He said they wouldn't listen all day. They wouldn't eat, they wouldn't take naps...daddy is such a softy .... ;)
Wednesday morning daddy got up before daylight and started working on the pond next door. When we bought the lot next door the pond was completely full and didn't look that bad. There was some damage from the ice storm, but not much....well.....August came and it dried up A LOT. There are broken branches and sticks and whole trees all over the place! After the boys woke up we went to watch and the boys played in the mud with their dump trucks.
Noah was told not to get too close to the pond because it was so muddy...Does Noah every listen??? No and he got stuck in mud over the top of his rubber boots and fell flat on his bottom in the mud with fishing pole in one had and mud in the other....A little later we went back to the house and got cleaned up. I switched with Tim around 11:30 and worked for a few hours before we switched again until about 4:30. It was so hot it made you sick...The boys had fun though! Oh and after the boys had their evening bath we went back down just to check it out and Noah forgot that mud above the boots means he is going to fall on his bottom so he did it again...so much for that bath!
Thursday we got up and were on the road by 6:30 am. We visited Mama in Tulsa for breakfast and then we went to our favorite shoe store Trippets for the boy's fall shoes and picked up granny from her work around lunch and headed to her house. The boys fished all afternoon with granny and daddy. The main reason we went was because I had a meeting at the college I am teaching at in Claremore, so I did that around 4:00...Came back to granny's, had dinner, played a little while longer, stopped by Mama's again to say by and got home around midnight...(I am trying to cram a whole week in one blog and this is hard!!)
I am drawing a blank for Friday and Saturday...Sunday we went to church and then a luncheon after church until around 2:15. We then went shopping and didn't get home until 4:30 or so...
Just a side note: 4:30 until bedtime for the boys is so busy if done right...with cooking dinner, forcing kids to eat, cleaning up dinner, cleaning up the mess the boys made while you were cooking dinner, bath time, clean the bathroom that was destroyed by gallons of water on the floor, dress 3 wiggly boys, put baby to bed, chase boys around the house until you can get them in their rooms, oh yah and make the infamous chocalate milk for bed (carnation instant breakfast and milk) ..read books and answer Noah's 2o questions about every single picture...right now I just heard him say, "That's a big cat!" Tim is reading to them right now...continuing on with the nightly routine....lights out, hall light on, and it is "boys get back in bed, boys go to sleep, boys be quiet, I said IN BED, I said GO TO SLEEP, NOAH YOU POOPED 1o minutes ago, you don't need to go again, Aiden you don't need Noah in the bathroom with you while you poop...You don't need to pee, didn't you pee when you went poop 5 minutes ago....OKAY BEDTIME! NOW!!" and then maybe if your lucky they go to sleep... whoooo...I am tired just typing this!
Monday was fun because we met our long time friends Jonathan and Stacey and their little girls Joncie and Jayden at Frontier City Amusement Park in Oklaoma City. It is 50 cent Mondays for the Military so we all got in for 3.oo dollars (plus the 7.00 per car parking fee) It was drizzly and cool all day which was actually great becuase we didn't suffocate in 100 degree weather and lines were short and we got to ride everything! Joncie and Aiden rode the little roller coaster probably 20 times throughout the day. Noah rode the log ride with Daddy and Aiden twice! They all rode the rapids and Aiden rode the big roller coaster with daddy. He said he would never ride that again when he got off, but earlier this evening he said he wanted to ride it again...he is definitely brave... We arrived there a few minutes after 12:00pm and left a little after 7:00 ...The boys were asleep before we even got on the highway...
Today I got up at 3:50 am to take Wyatt to the hospital to get tubes put in his ears. It went smooth, nothing major and we were home by 9:15am...He slept most of the morning and was pretty much a perfect angel all day! They said he would have them probably 18-24 months and to just not get his ears wet... Tim worked on the pond again this afternoon after he almost sliced off his thumb sharpening his chain on his chainsaw!! He's okay though. He goes back to work in the morning and the boys get to relearn mommies rules when they are home with her alone.... They would take over the house if I didn't keep them tied up in chairs all day ... hehehe...no not really...I stay tied up most of the day....oh okay, we usually just demolish the house and clean it up again 4 or 5 times a day. That is our day! I apologize for the long long blog this time.
